Marcus “Buff” Bagwell has made a life-changing decision regarding his health.
The former WCW wrestling star shared that, after a five-year struggle to save his right leg following a serious 2020 car accident that shattered his kneecap, he ultimately chose to have it amputated above the knee.
“I’m trying to be excited about it,” Bagwell said in a July 18 YouTube video. “I think it’s going to be a great thing. I’ve turned bad situations into good before, and I plan to do it again.”
Remaining hopeful, the 55-year-old added, “I truly believe this is the best decision, and I’m looking forward to a better quality of life.”
Bagwell recounted the difficult road he faced after the crash, including a seven-week hospital stay and 21 surgeries. The ongoing physical and emotional toll led him to struggle with alcohol during the recovery process.
