Jay-Z is taking legal action in response to long-standing claims that he fathered a son decades ago.
In new court documents obtained by E! News, the rapper—born Shawn Corey Carter—accuses Rymir Satterthwaite and his godmother, Lillie Coley, of waging a years-long campaign of harassment over allegations that Rymir is his biological child.
The filing, submitted on June 16, refers to a recent lawsuit filed by Rymir and Lillie as merely “the latest” in what Jay-Z calls a pattern of baseless legal attacks.
“These fabricated allegations have already been addressed and dismissed by multiple courts,” the documents state. “The plaintiff’s continued harassment and refusal to comply with prior court rulings has even led to a contempt order.”
Jay-Z’s legal team also argued that he was not properly notified of the latest lawsuit—filed on May 6—and only became aware of it nearly a month later, on June 3. As a result, his attorneys are asking the court for an additional four weeks to review the complaint and determine how to proceed.
