Montréal Victoire captain Marie-Philip Poulin has been awarded the 2024/25 PWHL Billie Jean King MVP, the league announced during its end-of-season ceremony on Wednesday.
Poulin edged out Toronto Sceptres defender Renata Fast and former Boston Fleet star Hilary Knight for the honor, becoming the first player in PWHL history to be named a two-time MVP finalist.
A model of consistency and dominance, the prolific forward never went more than three games without registering a point this season. She led the league with 19 goals, accounting for an astounding 25.7% of Montréal’s total scoring in 2024/25.
This latest recognition caps a standout year for Poulin, who also earned the 2025 IIHF Player of the Year and MVP honors at the IIHF Women’s World Championship in April.
With Wednesday’s win, the PWHL MVP title remains in Canadian hands for a second year, as Poulin joins inaugural MVP winner Natalie Spooner of Toronto as the league’s top two individual honorees.
In addition to the MVP, Poulin also claimed Forward of the Year, while Renata Fast took home Defender of the Year honors.
Montréal emerged as the night’s big winner, with head coach Kori Cheverie named Coach of the Year and goaltender Ann-Renée Desbiens collecting Goaltender of the Year.
Rounding out the awards, New York Sirens rookie Sarah Fillier — the No. 1 overall draft pick last year — earned Rookie of the Year honors after a breakout debut season.
