Sophia Hutchins’ Family and Friends Grieve Following Fatal ATV Accident in Southern California
Sophia Hutchins, a close confidante and manager of Caitlyn Jenner, tragically passed away at the age of 29 after an ATV accident on July 2, according to multiple reports.
As reported by TMZ, citing both law enforcement and family sources, Hutchins was riding an ATV in Malibu when the vehicle collided with the rear of a moving car. The impact caused her to veer off the road and plummet roughly 350 feet into a ravine near Jenner’s residence.
Emergency responders pronounced Hutchins dead at the scene. No other individuals were injured in the incident.
A graduate of Pepperdine University, Hutchins formed a close bond with Jenner nearly ten years ago while still in college.
“We met through my makeup artist during a M.A.C. photo shoot,” she shared in a 2019 New York Times interview. “We instantly clicked, spent the whole shoot laughing, and ended up having brunch. We’ve been close ever since.”
Jenner’s public transition also played a pivotal role in motivating Hutchins to embrace her own gender identity. The two appeared together on the E! reality series I Am Cait.
Over time, Hutchins took on the role of Jenner’s manager.
“I realized no one was managing her properly, and people were clearly exploiting her,” she told the NYT. “I told her, ‘Caitlyn, if I don’t step in and manage things, you’re going to lose everything.’”
