Sophie Turner says Game of Thrones gave her more than just a crash course in acting.
The actress, who portrayed Sansa Stark on the hit HBO series, revealed that joining the show at just 14 years old offered a surprisingly comprehensive education — including lessons about sex.
“I definitely got my sex education from that show,” Turner joked on the July 8 episode of the Dish podcast with hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett. “More than enough.”
Reflecting on some of the series’ more explicit and controversial storylines, Turner, now 29, admitted there was some “really crazy stuff.” Still, she credits Game of Thrones with shaping her as a performer.
“It was the best acting class I’ve ever had,” she said. “I didn’t have any formal training, so I learned from the incredible actors around me. It felt like I’d won a competition. It was amazing — we were like a family.”
