Trinity Rodman has made it clear: she’s forging her own path.
Yes, she’s one of NBA legend Dennis Rodman’s three children, but since being drafted at 18 by the Washington Spirit in 2021, the rising soccer star—raised by her mother, Michelle Moyer—has been focused on building her own identity.
“Obviously he was an amazing athlete, and I got those genes from him,” the 5’8″ forward told reporters back then. “But I’m just excited to be known as Trinity Rodman, not Dennis Rodman’s daughter.”
She quickly proved her point—earning NWSL Rookie of the Year and U.S. Soccer’s Young Female Player of the Year honors in 2021, helping the Spirit win their first league title, and debuting with the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2022. She later played in the 2023 World Cup and secured a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
So it’s easy to see why she was frustrated when, during a 2025 Wimbledon broadcast, a commentator mispronounced her name as “Tiffany” and immediately referenced her father’s basketball career while noting her attendance—undermining everything she’s accomplished on her own.
