Hugh Grant was caught catching some shut-eye—yes, actually asleep—during one of Wimbledon’s most high-stakes moments.
Despite the intensity of a first-set tiebreak in a Wimbledon 2025 quarterfinal between 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic and Italy’s Flavio Cobolli, the Love Actually star appeared to use the moment to sneak in a nap.
Seated in the prestigious Royal Box just behind Queen Camilla on July 9, Grant was spotted with his head bowed and arms relaxed, seemingly dozing off during the action on Centre Court.
ESPN’s Chris Fowler couldn’t help but comment as the cameras panned to the dozing actor: “Is he with us?” he asked co-commentator John McEnroe, who replied with a laugh, “Looks like he could use a little wake-up call. It’s a tiebreaker—tell him! Long way to go.”
While the commentators had a lighthearted laugh, fans also noticed the 64-year-old’s mid-match nap—though not everyone seemed amused by the sleepy moment.
